After studying some original illuminated manuscripts from the Philadelphia Libraries Collection "Leaves of Gold" project (see website under "Explore More" at right) and looking at some pages from the Book of Kells, we put our hand to making some illuminated documents of our own. I confess to being a bit of a magpie when it comes to all things shiny, but I thought this was one of the best uses of glitter I've ever seen, and the details the students included were absolutely beautiful!
