Summer Fun

Here are a few of the things my Seabury friends, family and I have been doing these first weeks of summer...

I would say "Future Rock Star," but I think a gig at the Hard Rock makes him a CURRENT Rock Star. Not a bad way to kick off the summer!

Posing with a few Seabury fans...

And a few more.

And just to show that we don't really do the "summer slide" at Seabury...

Here's a 2nd grader learning how to program an Arduino electronics board (my husband Mike's "experience" donation to the auction)

And a couple of book lovers scouting out good summer reads...

on a Tacoma Book store "crawl."
(We all came home with a *few* good books. LOL.)

And finally, checking out Big Sister A's downtown Tacoma mural capstone project with Mrs. T during our lunch break from the "Daily 5" conference at the Hotel Murano. We were learning more ways to differentiate while teaching reading and writing -- even the teachers never stop learning!

If you are looking for good ways to keep brains active this summer, here's my favorite resource:

Have a great summer, and, as Leslie Burke says in the movie Bridge to Terabithia
"...keep your mind wide open."

Another year older ...

Wow, what a year!

We've worked hard, collaborated and explored:

We've made a lot of new friends with a lot of great ideas and information to share:

We've read a lot, written a lot, thought a lot, and shared our hard work:

We've built friendships and grown into ourselves a little bit more:

And best of all, we've had A LOT of fun while we have accomplished so much!

Thanks for a great year, Spirits!
